IBTM China 2019 announces new Technology Zone underlining values and opportunities around technology within the industry

(June 14, 2019, Beijing) IBTM China, part of IBTM’s global portfolio of meetings, events and industry trade shows has announced its brand new Technology Zone in cooperation with DAHLIA+ Agency to deliver an interactive educational experience for exhibitors, hosted buyers and visitors for its 2019 event, which takes place in Beijing from 28-29 August.



 

The popularity of the Internet and digital applications has a huge influence on all industries, especially the MICE industry. The transformation of meetings, from large-scale offline meetings, medium- and small-sized seminars to online meetings, only took about ten years. The unstable landscape of the global economy has led to more strict methods for input-output calculation and higher expectation on technology. The new Technology Zone is designed to target these industry pain points and bring innovative mindsets and solutions.
 

The Technology Zone will feature a tech stage for event technology and event design experts to share their latest concepts and ideas; a go-to area where dozens of leading technology solution providers from abroad will provide one-to-one technology advice for event attendees to get answers to questions about professional branding, social media usage, digital marketing and tech solutions. Technology-focused exhibitors will be able to display their products in the zone and deliver presentations showcasing their latest concepts and ideas. There will also be guided event tech tours specifically tailored towards the needs of Hosted Buyers to help them plan and execute outstanding events and establish strong business modules.

Almost 250 exhibitors from over 30 countries are also confirmed, including Visit Okinawa Japan, Tourism New Zealand, Los Angles Tourism & Convention Board, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, Air Canada, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, Galaxy Macau, Sassy Events from Cyprus, Azalai Hotels Group from Africa, Kaluah Tours, Las Hawaii Mansion, to name but a few.
 

Chinese exhibitors include Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai, Jinling Hotel Nanjing, Guangzhou Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau, Melia Hotel International, Shenzhen OCT East Theme Hotel Cluster, etc.
 

IBTM China is the number one event for the region’s MICE industry, gathering over 5,000 global meetings industry professionals together for two days full of pre-scheduled business meetings. The event uses IBTM’s bespoke ‘matchmaking’ software to provide each Hosted Buyer with a pre-arranged schedule of meetings to ensure that buyers only meet with people with whom there’s a great chance they’ll do business.
